Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s real life love affair was just one of the reasons fans adored Twilight so much. But did you know that Robsten’s onscreen pairing nearly didn’t happen?
Ashley Greene, who played Alice Cullen in the films, has revealed that she initially tried out for the role of Bella, which eventually went to Kristen.
‘I originally auditioned for Bella and then they brought me back in for Alice,’ she says.
But even that wasn’t an easy feat, with the actress admitting she had to jump through a lot of hoops to land the role.
‘I had to audition for [Alice] like five times. I mean they literally made me sit on pins and needles just kind of narrowing it down between me and a billion girls,’ she says. ‘When I finally got the call, I was beyond happy. I cried.’
And the rest, as they say, is history.
