Queen Elizabeth’s dressmaker Angela Kelly has revealed in her book The Other Side Of The Coin: The Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe that Her Majesty dresses herself within the confines of her social conscious.

According to Ms Kelly – who has worked with Queen Elizabeth II for 25 years – the monarch has switched from wearing real fur to faux fur in recent years.
“If Her Majesty is due to attend an engagement in particularly cold weather, from 2019 onwards fake fur will be used to make sure she stays warm.”
The 93-year-old has already started making amends on her more traditional pieces, such as replacing a mink trim on one of her staple tweed dresses with fake fur.
The Queen’s switch from real fur to fake fur has been congratulated by animal rights campaigners, with the PETA Director of International Programmes Mimi Bekhechi telling HELLO!: “PETA staff are raising a glass of gin and Dubonnet to the Queen’s compassionate decision to go fur-free. This new policy is a sign of the times, as 95% of the British public would also refuse to wear real fur.”
In her book, Ms Kelly also revealed the Queen’s makeup routine and it is surprisingly low-key.
According to Ms Kelly the Queen will hardly ever opt for a makeup artist, instead she will do her own face for events.
The only exception to this ‘no makeup artist’ rule is on the holidays before her yearly recording of the Christmas Speech.
Angela told PEOPLE magazine: “You might be surprised to know that this is the only occasion throughout the year when Her Majesty does not do her own makeup.”
As for the other royal women, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are equally low-key and are also known for doing their own makeup.
