However, her latest Instagram has taken a slightly different turn and has revealed something very interesting about one of our favourite royals – and her mother!

Taking to Instagram, Princess Eugenie wished her four-times great grandmother a very happy birthday in an emotional post.

The 29-year-old daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York – whose full name is Eugenie Victoria Helena – paid homage to Great Britain’s second-longest reigning monarch by posting both a portrait of Queen Victoria and a still image from the film The Young Victoria, alongside a heartfelt caption.

The post revealed that her mother, Sarah Ferguson, had actually produced the highly acclaimed 2009 film, starring Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend, which was based on the early life and reign of Queen Victoria.

“Today marks the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria (1819-1901). She reigned for almost 64 years and I’m very proud to be named after her,” Eugenie began her lengthy post.

Eugenie continued: “The first image is a portrait of Queen Victoria by Franz Xaver Winterhalter (1805-1873) @royalcollectiontrust. The second is of Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend, who played Victoria and Albert in The Young Victoria (2009) – a film produced by @sarahferguson15.”

Fans were quick to express their surprise that the Duchess of York, who’s affectionately known as ‘Fergie’, had produced the successful British period drama.

“I had no idea your wonderful mother produced this film. It’s one of my very favorites. She’s very gifted!,” wrote one stunned fan.

Another Instagram user commented: “Oh I didn’t know your mum produced it! Very well done!”

Queen Elizabeth, Eugenie’s grandmother, broke Queen Victoria’s record reign of 63 years and 216 days in September 2015 and is now the longest reigning monarch in England’s history.
