Royal fans have been speculating about Princess Eugenie’s pregnancy with Jack Brooksbank and Princess Beatrice‘s engagement to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi all year.

However, a new report has shed some light on both theories.

Being part of the royal family means carefully selecting moments to announce important news, which means that Princess Beatrice may have to delay her engagement news if her younger sister falls pregnant.

Express UK suggested that both announcements won’t occur in the same week, based on a precedent set by Queen Elizabeth II’s sister, Princess Margaret.

According to the publication, the Queen asked Princess Margaret to delay the announcement of her 1960 engagement to Antony Armstrong-Jones during her pregnancy with Prince Andrew.

As a result, Princess Margaret’s announcement about her impending royal wedding came precisely one week after the birth of Prince Andrew – who was born on February 19, 1960.

The statement read:

“It is with the greatest pleasure that Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother announces the betrothal of her beloved daughter The Princess Margaret to Mr. Antony Charles Robert Armstrong-Jones, son of Mr. R. O. L. Armstrong-Jones, Queen’s Counsel, and the Countess of Rosse, to which union The Queen has gladly given her consent.”

While the Queen’s 1960 request was not based on any rule, the royal family’s protocol of not stealing each other’s spotlight dictated Princess Margaret’s decision.

Ever since Princess Eugenie’s wedding day, the daughters of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew have been surrounded with rumours regarding their respective good news.

However, according to Express, the royals might follow in the footsteps of her Royal Highness and Princess Margaret, if Princess Eugenie falls pregnant first.

In addition, the rule could be reversed, whereby if Princess Eugenie becomes pregnant after her sister gets engaged, the two sisters may be forced to decide how long one of them will wait to go public with the news.

Essentially, it will be up to the York sisters to decide how and if they will consider this.

It appears royal fans won’t have to wait much longer to find out.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were set to become the next royal couple to make their way down the aisle – and now we have a rough idea at when we can expect to see Beatrice in a wedding dress!

According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, Princess Beatrice and her Italian property tycoon boyfriend are set to marry in the British spring, (our Autumn time).

Speaking with HELLO! magazine, Ms Seward said: “They’re going to get married – I was told by a member of the family. I think a wedding as early as next spring or summer is likely.”
