Fun-loving Sydney brothers Josh and Nic are ready to show off exactly what they’ve been hiding under their MKR aprons!
In a New Idea exclusive, the Italian siblings posed without their shirts – putting their impressive bodies on display.
‘I put on 10 kilos on the show… [but] I’ve been training for six weeks for this,’ Nic says, laughing.
The 33-year-old reveals he now weighs 74kg, but ballooned to 84kg during the filming for My Kitchen Rules.
‘I was always peckish after the instant restaurant table,’ Nic spills.
‘So I would stay up and eat. I would get room service or have fast food…
‘Not just a cheeseburger, the whole menu. That’s why I gained 10 kilos!’
So what’s his secret to losing the weight?
‘It’s all about what you eat at the end of the day,’ he explains.
‘Obviously the workouts help – I just like to do…12 minutes and go home.
‘A lot of people think you have to train for an hour or
so, but it’s not the case. Your body doesn’t work that way.’
But for older brother Josh, 36, it’s a completely different story…
‘Josh has it naturally, he was born with abs,’ Nic jokes.
The father-of-one says he actually lost weight during the show and typically doesn’t have to work very hard to maintain his trim physique.
‘Wardrobe were telling me that I was the only one there who lost weight,’ Josh says.
‘For me, I don’t need a lot. I just do weights stuff, go to the park and do push-ups and stuff.
‘I’ve got a sweet tooth [though], so it’s all about balancing that.’
A lot has happened for the brothers since filming for MKR wrapped, with Josh thinking about adding to his family and Nic planning a move overseas to be with his long-term girlfriend Molly.
‘I think I’m gonna move to America,’ Nic explains.
‘I think June/July I’m going to head over. I want to open up something over there, a restaurant, a coffee shop, or a gelato shop.’
Is that wedding bells we hear ringing, Nic?
‘I found out yesterday where I want to propose,’ he spills.
‘It’s the best place in the world. I found this place and it’s unbelievable. I can’t say where it is though, because then it [won’t be] a surprise!’
Meanwhile, Josh says being reunited with his wife and son after filming made him realise just how important family really is.
‘I would love to have five kids,’ he reveals.
‘It’s hard work, I know [that already], but it’s awesome. Kids are awesome.’
