My Kitchen Rules runners up Ibby and Romel have confessed the real reason behind their decision to go on the show.

The NSW Socialites failed to defeat winners Luke and Matt in the Grand Final on Sunday night, but it turns out they got exactly what they wanted from the contest anyway.
Speaking to New Idea, Romel admitted: “It’s [MKR] opened up a lot of doors. It’s given us a profile that we didn’t have going into the show.”
“For me, I got on the show wanting to use it as a platform to launch my career in TV,” the 42-year-old confessed.
“My main focus has always been presenting, hosting, judging,” Romel continued. “My background is acting, I studied acting for a while.”
The boys, who were beaten by Luke and Matt by four points in last night’s grand final, are already working on some projects.
“There’s [sic] a couple of things that I’m working on with producers. It’s something that hasn’t really been done here in Australia on TV before,” Romel told New Idea.
The reality TV cook is keeping his cards close to his chest: “With this industry it’s not confirmed until it’s on screens so until then it’s just an idea.”
But it might not be long until we see the pals back on our TV screens.
“There are definitely conversations that both Ibby and I are having with producers and there’s a couple of TV shows that we are discussing. There’s certainly something brewing,” Romel said.
