Serving up a creative menu of crocodile dumplings, pork belly and an innovative dessert named sunny side up toast, the pair made a lasting impression.

Both Pete and Manu scored their pork belly main served with mash, braised fennel and a juniper berry sauce the first 10 in the whole 10 years of its airing.

“You couldn’t have done it any better,” raved Pete.

And Manu was equally complimentary. “I’ve had a lot of pork belly in the competition – but this is a complete success,” he enthused.

The pair also got creative with their sunny side up dessert which looked like eggs on toast but was actually homemade brioche served with ice cream and passionfruit curd.

Overall they scored a well deserved 96 points taking them to the top of the leaderboard.

It’s great news for the duo seeing as they had such a tough upbringing.

“We didn’t grow up in a rich family,” Blake explained to New Idea.

“There were five of us in a two-bedroom house. I shared a room with my brother. Amanda was with mum and dad. And dad worked 15 hour days to put food on the table for us, ” he added.

“We’re so lucky they instilled in us from a very young age that you can’t get anything from nothing,” said Amanda, who dreams of opening her own restaurant. “We had to work hard from day dot to get to where we are.”

“We’re super grateful for the way we’ve been brought up and we put that into everything we do in life,” says Blake, whose own dream is to take a food truck around the country.
