One third of Destiny’s Child Kelly Rowland once claimed in a TODAY interview that there were no plans for a reunion, only to appear on stage at Coachella alongside her fellow bandmates – Beyonce and Michelle.
TODAY’s Richard Wilkins confronted the American pop star over her ‘deceit.’
‘So you blatantly lied to me?’ he said to Kelly.
Rowland, seemingly uncomfortable, said: ‘Oh God. Someone help me please.’
Adding, ‘I knew you were going to pick a bone with me for this one. As I said it there lying I thought ‘Ooh this is going to feel bad in a couple weeks’.’
To prepare for the music festival in America, Rowland had been flying back and forth from Australia to the US in between filming The Voice.
Currently Down Under for the live rounds of the hit show, Richard asked whether Destiny’s Child would reunite permanently.
‘I’m not going to lie this time,’ Rowland told the entertainment reporter. ‘Now that we really have not talked about. See how serious my face is, it’s very serious. We have not talked about it.’
Pushing for a more definite response, Richard managed to get Kelly to say there is still hope but nothing coming up for the group.
‘No plans but never say never,’ she finally admitted.
