According to recent reports, Channel 9 has dedicated a staff team to ‘Project Lisa’ – a secret plan to get the popular morning host nominated for a Gold Logie.
Wilkinson has been fronting one of Australia’s most popular morning shows, Today, and is highly regarded as one of the country’s top journos. However, she has never been nominated for the coveted award.
Confidential has revealed Nine’s secret plot to champion the popular host to get short-listed for the Logie.
According to the publication, planning is underway ahead of Logie nominations opening in coming months.
Possible magazine cover shoots and high-profile partnerships are already in the works in an effort to pump up Wilkinson’s profile during the prime voting period.
A media insider told the publication, ‘Nine’s promotions team have ensured that Lisa is the number one Nine talent in the public eyes during the voting period.’
The Logies were heavily criticised this year within the industry for a lacklustre line-up of nominations for the Gold Logie, with several actors point to the absence of Wilkinson.
The Logies were also slammed this year for only having one female, Jessica Marais, nominated for the coveted award.
Wilkinson has been a stable and strong force on Today over the past 12 months with co-host Karl Stefanovic’s personal dramas in the media.
