Royal commentator Michelle Tauber pointed out that the Duchess of Cambridge has picked out a number of fashion choices that are similar to Diana's since joining the royal family.
"When Kate welcomed her first-born, Prince George, we saw her leave the hospital in a Jenny Packham dress, which was blue with white polka dots which was actually a very similar echo of Princess Diana’s dress when she left the hospital with Prince William," Michelle said.
In 2018, when Prince Louis was born, Kate left the hospital in a red dress with a Peter Pan collar - which was strikingly similar to the outfit worn by Diana when she took Prince Harry home after her was born.
Michelle added: "It seems to be a very deliberate choice by Kate to honour Diana in these subtle yet striking nods to her own fashion."
More recently, on Prince William and Kate's tour of Pakistan earlier this month, the Duchess of Cambridge once again took inspiration from the Princess of Wales.
Kate appeared to be channelling her late mother-in-law Princess Diana in her first outfit for her tour of Pakistan with Prince William.
The Duchess of Cambridge exited the plane in a turquoise blue bespoke dress with a draped neckline and matching pants.
Kate's outfit can be likened to an outfit that Princess Diana wore on her visit to Pakistan in 1996, when the Princess of Wales also wore a long tunic-like top with trousers in a similar shade of blue.
Speaking of Kate's fashion choices, style expert Andrea Levinthal told the publication: "No one has more pressure on them when it comes to what they wear than Kate Middleton.
"She is the future Queen after all. Yet, she pulls it off easily."
"She always looks perfectly tailored, she always looks elegant and appropriate," Andrea added.
"It always looks like there’s a sense of purpose and forethought into everything she wears."
