Love is in the air this week on Home And Away. Between the mother-in-law from hell and Ziggy’s (Sophie Dillman) ongoing dramas, it’s been a tough few weeks for the Astoni family.
So what better time for some happy news and a surprise wedding?
Ben (Rohan Nichols) and Maggie’s mum Diana (Sarah Chadwick) have finally buried the hatchet after more than 20 years of being at loggerheads.
And this time they’re conspiring together instead of against each other.
At the beach, Ben and Diana have organised a surprise ceremony for the renewal of Maggie (Kestie Morassi) and Ben’s vows.
A beaming Diana leads her daughter down to the secret ceremony on the sand, where Maggie gets the surprise of her life when she lifts the blindfold!
‘She’s very touched at having the whole family there,’ Kestie tells New Idea. ‘Having Diana there to support her as well makes the whole thing very special. Maggie is known to hate surprises, but this was one that knocked her socks off in a great way.’
After the beautiful beach ceremony, the Astonis all let down their hair to celebrate at Salt, and Maggie thanks Diana for being there for her.
She knows Ben isn’t the man Diana wanted for her, but he’s the man Maggie wants. He will always be there for her, there’s nothing she’s more sure about.
