Married at First Sight bride Gia Fleur has been busted flirting with her alternative match, James, while her relationship with Scott McCristal was crumbling.
The bride was exposed during Stan’s series MAFS: After the Dinner Party, after their dynamic during the Grass is Greener challenge raised eyebrows.
After rejecting his number at the table, James revealed that he reached out to Gia after she abruptly left her final date with Scott.
“She was flirtatious, straight away,” he revealed as a guest on the show, adding that he was persistent to get her attention.
Even though he said she shut him down, and she was with Scott, he revealed that she called him three times.
He claimed that she called him after she decided to quit the show to return to Melbourne, but viewers saw that she stayed in Sydney and then returned to the Dinner Party.
After not answering her first call, she spoke with James during their second and third call.
After hearing all of this, Scott, who was also a guest on the show, was floored, particularly because she claimed she returned to the show to win Scott back.
During the Stan episode, fans also learned that Gia had sent James photos of herself in a bikini.
“The text messages were flirty, the conversations afterwards were flirty. They weren’t flirty immediately,” James explained.
“Look, if it was my missus, I would be very upset, cause it’s not behaviour that I’d tolerate or want.”
Hearing Scott’s story, James said he wouldn’t have engaged with Gia if he had known that she was going to try to make it work with Scott.
Gia then finally came on the show as a guest and took responsibility for her actions.
“I was trying to soften the blow and act like it wasn’t as bad as it was, but watching it back, I’m like, yeah, it was pretty bad,” she said, revealing that she called him on Instagram.
When pressed on why she was flirty with James, she said she was spiralling and liked the attention.
She insisted that she did not see him, despite saying she would be off the show in a week. Then, she said she had shown Scott the message and ended up blocking James.
However, Gia revealed that she unblocked him, but has not been in contact with James since.
She admitted that she called him, and he gave her “good advice”.
“I wanted to feel wanted,” she shared, and said she “took” James’ attention. “I was so rejected by Scott, you have no idea. I was begging him.”
