There’s no such thing as a white Christmas as far as Keith Urban is concerned.
In fact, the country singer and his Hollywood actress wife, Nicole Kidman, have revealed their family only ever spend the holiday season one way: on the beach.
Earlier this week the 49-year-old told the Herald Sun of their Aussie Christmas traditions, which include gathering the family together for a festive sing-a-long.
‘We go to the beach for Chrissy, this is what I know to do. Christmas Eve we will get around the piano and bang out some carols,’ he said.
The four-time Grammy award winner has been touring the country since June with his ninth studio album, ripCord.
The Somebody Like You superstar has also announced he is already working on new music.
‘I don’t know if I’m thinking of it in terms of the album, but always in terms of the next thing to create,’ he said.
Kidman is currently in the US shooting Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled, but is set to walk the red carpet at the State Theatre next Monday for the Australian premier of her new critically acclaimed film, Lion.
Urban is expected to be by her side. The musician confessed that after ten years of marriage, he is still in awe of his other half.
‘She is such an extraordinary actor,’ Urban said of the Oscar-winning 49-year old.
‘So for me, when she can pull me into a character and I still know that I’m watching my wife and yet I am totally drawn into the character, that always reminds me of how phenomenal she is at what she does.’
The pair has two children together, 5-year-old Faith and 8-year-old Sunday Rose.
