Speaking with 9Honey, Nic – who was married to fiery Filipino Cyrell – says he was ‘shattered’ when he first heard his diagnosis.

After first being diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2015, the 24-year old Newcastle native had completed treatment by 2015 and was living in good health.

Nic told 9Honey that he first discovered another lump in December 2018, smack bang in the middle of filming MAFS.

It was at Christmas time when Nic noticed his left testicle had shrunk.

Nic told the publication: “I also noticed a small semi-hard kind of lump at the end of my left testicle.”

Nic shares the upsetting moment back in December when the test confirmed it was a second testicular cancer diagnosis:

“I couldn’t believe it.

“Four years later … there was so much going on in my life, for it to come back, I’m still in shock that it came back.

“You think being that young and having dealt with it once, surely that’s it. And then over Christmas I was having a shower and I was sort of having a feel as you do, as most men should do.”

Nic revealed that he delayed his surgery by a week so that he could complete filming MAFS, eventually going into surgery on January 29.

Nic told the outlet that after his surgery he underwent a round of chemotherapy, and thankfully a recent blood test has confirmed that Nic is now cancer-free.

Nic ended the interview with these words of wisdom: “I just want men out there, even females, [to know] if something doesn’t feel right it’s for a reason. Just check. What’s the harm?”
