Lindy Klim has made the shocking announcement that she found out about husband Michael’s new relationship via social media.
Speaking to Stellar Magazine, the 38-year-old Balinese model reveals she felt ‘really hurt and humiliated,’ by the break-up of her near decade-long marriage to the Olympic swimmer.
‘I haven’t really spoken about it publicly, I think mostly out of concern for my children, and it was also a really difficult time for me to talk about,’
While Lindy admits the marriage had been in difficulty for some time, she says the revelation that Michael was seeing someone else – fashion designer Desiree Deravi – came as a complete shock.
‘The way I found out about it – through social media – was quite hurtful. Obviously we’d been struggling for a while, but I thought we were keeping a hold on it and trying really hard to work it out,’ she spills.
‘I felt very let-down; that was probably the humiliation of finding out about things in a magazine. I didn’t know that was going on, which was really hurtful’.
According to the publication, Lindy reveals she found out about Michael’s new relationship mid-2015, prompting them to finally split in February this year.
Despite Lindy’s revelation, 39-year-old Michael has always denied he was unfaithful.
‘It’s hurtful when there are stories and rumours that aren’t true written about you… especially when both Lindy and I were making an effort to salvage something,’ he told News.com.au earlier this year.
Thankfully, Lindy says her three children with Michael – Stella, Rocco and Frankie – helped her get through the bad times, and she is now happily engaged to British property developer, Adam Ellis.
