Bachelor fixture Keira Maguire has given new insight into the reality of sex on the highly produced franchise.
Speaking on her podcast, The Buzz, the 32-year-old star revealed just how choreographed and legalistic the build-up to sex needs to be on set.
‘On the island you need to physically ask the producers for consent – you need to actually say to the camera,’ she revealed on the podcast
‘So, if you’re walking into a room and the producers see you, they get the camera out and say, “You need to say to the camera, ‘I give consent'” to have any kind of sexual intercourse.’
The protocol was put in place after an allegation of possible impropriety or sexual assault rocked the American version of the show.
The concern for safety extends to copious amounts of condoms placed in rooms, to keep things under wraps even when the producers aren’t in the room.
But it seems they weren’t needed. Keira says she and Jarrod never did the deed on the show.
‘I can tell you right now that Jarrod and I did not have sex on that island,’ she said.
‘There was no way that was going to happen. And we were there for the whole two months, so if we can hold it together, so can they.’
