Meet House Rules contestants and surfing pros Mikaela, 24 and Eliza, 21 from WA.
The sisters both started surfing when they were three and are ranked among the top 100 female surfers in the world.
When they’re not competing around the world, they train four times a day, twice at the gym and twice in the surf.
“Our family has always been very ocean-orientated, so it was a natural progression for us to take up surfing. But it took Eliza a little longer to jump on the bandwagon – it wasn’t until she won her first state comp age 9 that she fell in love with the competitive side of the sport,” Mikaela told Girlfriend.
“We are so blessed we get to travel around the world and see lots of cool places,” Eliza says. “But after competing overseas, we love coming home.”
But despite their sporting prowess during the premiere episode, the sisters admit they are complete amateurs when it comes to renovating.
“It’s like the blind leading the blind,” Mikaela adds.
“How hard can it be?” Eliza, asks with a laugh. “But we can do this.”
