Former My Kitchen Rules favourite David Vu – of David and Betty fame – has today appeared before court in Sydney on a drugs charge.
The former reality star, who won fans with his innovative dishes and quirky relationship with close friend Betty, came third on the show. But today he was in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons as he pled guilty to possessing an illicit substance.
The illegal material – which was not identified – weighed in at 0.46g, with the star maintaining he is not a user.
‘I am instructed that my client does not use drugs,’ his solicitor Robert Daoud said during the session in central Sydney.
There is no suggestion that his TV partner Betty – pictured here – was in any way involved.
Vu will partake in a ‘merit assessment program’ and will return to court later this month.
