Princess Eugenie dumped by the palace

This doesn't sound very fair to us?

Princess Eugenie may be the public’s favourite Princess, but earning the title of ‘most popular member of the royal family’ still doesn’t entitle you to receive an allowance from the Privy Purse.

Eugenie, who is the Queen’s granddaughter and ninth in line to the British throne, is believed to have a close relationship with her ‘granny’ and has engaged in some of the most high-profile and successful charity work of all the senior royal family members.

But a new report reveals that the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York isn’t technically working with these charities in partnership with the royal family.

Despite co-founding the Anti-Slavery Collective in 2017 and becoming a patron of Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital’s Redevelopment Appeal at 22 years of age, Her Royal Highness does not receive an allowance form the Privy Purse.

So what exactly is the Privy Purse? Well, it is Queen Elizabeth’s private income, which was estimated at roughly $31 million (AUD) in 2018. 

Although Eugenie’s cousins Prince Harry and Prince William can dip into the Privy Purse to cover their official royal duties, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are not permitted to any of the cash.

Luckily for us, this hasn’t slowed down the sister’s philanthropic pursuits!
