9 Honey reported that the royal was "very proud" to take on the duties of the Queen should the 79-year-old fall ill, travel overseas, or be unable to fulfil her duties.
Danish royal head of communications Lene Balleby confirmed the move in a statement posted to Facebook.
"At the beginning of the new year, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine will begin a 12-week school stay at the International School of lemania-Bees in Switzerland," the statement in Danish revealed.
"With the school stay, the Crown Prince party wants to give their children the opportunity for a common experience in an international environment."
After the three-month program is done, all four Royal kids "will continue their schooling in their current classes at the secondary school in Geneva."
"Her Royal Majesty the Crown Princess will remain primarily with the children in Switzerland, and his Royal Majesty the Crown Prince will be with the family when there are opportunities for it in the Crown Prince's program," they also noted.
"As a result of children's school stay, the Crown Princess's official activities in Denmark will be fewer."
