The Project co-host and mother of two revealed how she went from being a “proper chain-smoking journo” to a proud mother.

“When I started (in TV), you had to chase hard. I was this pack-a-day smoker, out on the road, door-knocking people,” the journalist candidly admitted.

“I was like a proper chain-smoking journo. These kids saved my life in so many ways. There’s a saying that goes, ‘Before kids life was black and white, but after kids it becomes Technicolor’.”

Sarah previously discussed her smoking addiction in a column she wrote for The Daily Telegraph in 2014. At this time, Sarah revealed that she took up smoking at 21 but eventually quit after she married her now ex-husband, Tom Ward.

In Wilson’s book, Sarah explained that despite her success in her career, having her two sons Paul, seven, and Harry, five, remains her greatest achievement.

“Having children, I think, has been the making of me, and probably my greatest feat to date,” she said.

“It’s one of the things I’m most proud of, something I find I’m so comfortable doing, even though I don’t get it right all the time.”

In an emotional interview with Stellar Magazine in 2022, Sarah shed light on her “gut-wrenching” divorce after being married to Tom for six years.

“What I’m really proud of is how Tom and I have been able to work together for the kids,” she shared with the publication at the time.

“It will probably look a little different, but we’re always going to be a family and we’re always going to be connected by these two little people.”

The television star went on to add that she was incredibly proud of the resilience her two boys had shown during their separation.
