Nine News Australia presenter Belinda Russell asked Royal expert, Juliet Rieden if the Queen was “stepping back from her royal duties,” and the Royal guru replied “Yes.”

BREAKING ROYAL NEWS: Why the Queen is stepping back from royal duties

“Prince William is going to be king one day. The Queen is 93 and she’s offloading a lot of her work both to her son and to her grandson…William has really had to up the ante and take on a lot of this heavy lifting,” said Rieden.

The Royal guru also believes this has fueled rumours of a Royal rift, which was reignited recently when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s departure from the Royal Foundation (a charity they previously shared with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge).

Kensington Palace stated that the foundation would “become the principal charitable and philanthropic vehicle for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will establish their own new charitable foundation with transitional operating support from The Royal Foundation.”

“This is Prince Harry and Prince William going their separate way with their wives – they’re almost setting up two separate courts,” said Rieden.

The royal expert claimed that Autumn would be a busy time for the royal family, with the Sussexes and Cambridges making plans for their respective tours.

“I think in those tours you really do see the essence of how different these two brothers’ jobs are…William and Kate are going without their children for the Foreign Office in what is being considered a post Brexit love-in,” Rieden explained.

Prince William and Kate Middleton will be travelling to Pakistan, while Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are taking Archie Harrison on tour of South Africa.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently posted an announcement about their South Africa trip on Instagram, stating:

“The duke and duchess are really looking forward to meeting so many of you on the ground and continuing to raise awareness of the high impact work local communities are doing across the commonwealth and beyond. This will be their first official tour as a family!”

The announcement also mentioned that Prince Harry will make solo visits to Angola, Malawi and Botswana.

Baby Archie will be the youngest royal to have visited South Africa (he will be five months old when he joins his parents on the trip).

Prince William was only nine months old when Prince Charles and Princess Diana took him on a royal tour of Australia and New Zealand in 1983.
