Married At First Sight star Dan Webb has just officially confirmed his split with Jessika Power after revealing all he ever felt about meeting her is “regret” and that he is glad that he never introduced her to his son.
In a sit-down interview with Yahoo, the 35-year-old father explains how he broke up with his behind the scenes love Jess after their heated exchange on Talking Married, following the MAFS finale which saw Dan discover Jess’ former flirty proposal towards married co-star Nic Jovanovic.
“Me and Jess have split, let’s get that straight. We have broken up,” he said.
“There’s allegations coming out that we’re still together. She’s saying we’re still together. We are not together.”
Dan is VERY emotional during the whole interview and he confesses, “I had trust issues throughout our relationship”, and rewatching the finale footage brought back a lot of emotions.
On Monday night viewers saw Jessika and Dan have an argument on national live television during a Talking Married, with Dan asking Jess to confess she’d made a move on Nic during the filming of MAFS.
“There’s rumours about her hooking up with him in an elevator. I’m hearing it happened, but I just want to hear her tell me her side. I wanted to feel like she could trust me and the person I was giving her. I was giving her as much as I could give her.”
I mean we don’t blame the man for just wanting an honest answer.
Dan continues to explain how after the TV interview finished Jess stormed off and was crying.
“I don’t know if she was upset at the fact that I put her on the spot on live TV or she was upset with the fact that I didn’t trust her and she actually heard me what I was saying.” he said.
Dan explains how he didn’t mean to make her upset and he actually felt sorry for her.
“I wasn’t attacking her, I didn’t mean for it to come out that way,” he explains, adding Jess “was crying for a very long time”.
“She was very upset and I was upset too watching her being upset. We just spoke and I was just honest with her. I said, ‘Look I don’t think I can continue this. It’s toxic, you’re not being honest with me. I can’t have a relationship with someone if they’re not honest with me’.”
The MAFS reality star admits if just had just been upfront and honest in the first place maybe things could’ve worked out differently.
“Trust is my biggest thing when it comes to a relationship and I felt like she wasn’t giving me that. There’s been so much crap talk and she just wasn’t being honest”.
Dan says he’s chosen to speak out because he wanted to set the record straight, put this part of his life all behind him and just move on.
“I look back now, and I’m thinking I would’ve given this girl everything of me,” he admits.
“Yeah, I didn’t introduce her to my son and stuff like that because I wasn’t ready, but at that point in time I really did love the girl.”
Dan does express huge regret for cheating on MAFS co-star and on screen-wife Tamara Joy with Jess.
“You live and learn… I have a lot of regret for some of the decisions I’ve made,” he admits.
“The feeling is regret about ever meeting Jess.”
We are yet to hear from Jess on Dan’s emotional interview.
