Armstrong was living in Newcastle, but had been staying with his parents in Blyth since Sophie’s passing.
In a haunting message, Aaron took to social media last week, writing: ‘I will see you very soon angel.’
Many have taken to Twitter to mourn the loss of both Aaron and Sophie.
My heart is breaking over the news of Aaron Armstrong. It’s absolute gut wrenching to think that he loved @sophiegradon so much that he felt that he couldn’t live without her! Mirrors the actions of my dad who just couldn’t face a life without my mum. Hope both are at peace x

Our thoughts are with both Sophie and Aaron’s family and friends.
