Duchess Kate lands new job

The Duchess of Cambridge has taken on a new role alongside the rest of her royal duties.

The 36-year-old royal has kept busy since returning from maternity leave following the birth of her third child, Prince Louis

The royal mum-of-three often works with charities that support children’s issues and mental health and she has now added to her impressive list of patronages. 

On Dec. 10. it was announced Kate is now patron of Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

The Duchess of Cambridge was made patron of Evelina London Children’s Hospital ahead of her and husband Prince William’s visit to the hospital on Tuesday. 

Kensington Palace announced the news on Twitter, revealing Kate said of her new role: “It’s a real privilege to be part of this organisation, and I look forward to many happy years ahead.”

Her new position will provide an opportunity to “champion the medical professionals working on the front-line in children’s healthcare and shine a light on their work supporting children in their early years”.

Marian Ridley, director of Evelina London said: “The Duchess shares our passion for giving children and young people the very best start in life and her royal highness’s support will help champion the lifesaving care our staff are providing to our patients”.

Kate’s new role is perfect for the doting mum, who shares Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, 8-months with husband William. 

While meeting patients at the hospital the couple also spoke about their children.

As they helped children make beaded bracelets, Kate told the youngsters: “Charlotte would love making these.”

Meanwhile, Prince William joked about his lack of art skills as he attempted to make a banner.

He added: “My son knows I’m useless at this. Catherine is the artsy one.”
