Australia became particularly curious about Matildas player Mary Fowler after her incredible performance at the 2023 FIFA World Cup. But there is a lot to know about this incredibly talented athlete.

As of the 2023 season, Mary is the youngest Matildas player at just 20 years old.

It’s shocking to believe at such a young age, she has already made history. But her career with the Matildas began at just 15 years old.

Mary recently went Instagram official with Nathan after sharing a cute picture of the two included in a six-picture carousel posted to Instagram.

The picture shows Nathan with his arm wrapped around Mary as they both appear beaming with joy.

The Instagram account of Kayo Sports took to the comments section and wrote, “Mr and Mrs Fowler ❤️.”

Fellow soccerplayer Sandy MacIver also commented saying, “The launch was hard.”

Nathan recently shared this photo of him and Mary cuddling up on the beach! This marks the first time Nathan has posted Mary to his Instagram and we couldn’t be happier for the two making their social media debut.

Nathan captioned the photo “That’s life…🍦,” however, others took to the comment section with some funny remarks.

NRL player Brian ‘Bizza’ To’o commented, “Mr & Mrs Cleary 💍.”

Hello Sport podcast wrote, “It’s never just an ice cream,” while New Zealand rugby league player Justin Horo penned, “The ice cream emoji hits different lol.”

The Penrith Panthers player was quick to squash these reports, with his representatives confirming to News Corp that the ice cream was “just ice cream”, and “nothing more.”

However, the Daily Mail spotted the two together in Perth in late October. Mary and Nathan were pictured holding hands, with the soccer star resting her head on his chest. This comes after Cleary flew to WA to watch Fowler play against the Philippines at Optus Stadium.

He was also spotted cheering Mary on in her next game against Chinese Taipei in early November, where she scored a goal after spotting him in the crowd. The Matildas won 3-0.

They were then spotted kissing at Sydney airport on December 20 and then out for a meal together on the Gold Coast on December 28th.

Not long after, the couple were spotting getting into a scrum, the Matildas forward having a blast putting her beau through his paces on the soccer pitch, before picking up the rugby ball herself for a lesson.

Aside from her dedication to the game, Mary has shown she is a “proud Papuan.”

Mary was born in Cairns, Australia on February 14, 2003. Her mother Nido is from Kira Kira village in Papa New Guinea and couldn’t be prouder of her daughter.

Her uncle, Rabura Geita revealed that despite not being big football fans, the entire village showed their support for Mary. Going so far as to bring flat-screen TVs onto the street so everyone could watch.

“But because of my niece Mary Fowler, the whole village is involved in participating and watching the games,” he told Pacific Beat.

“In the village, young boys and girls, especially the small ones, they force their parents to buy soccer balls.”

In a picture posted to Instagram, Mary showed her family next to a post of Mary in the Kira Kira village.

“Touches my heart…so proud to be Papuan 😇🇵🇬 Sending love to you all,” she captioned it.
