The craze hit fever pitch after Kmart Pie Maker follower Jennifer wrote a hilarious post, describing her elation at finally mastering the poached egg after years of disasters.
She wrote: ‘I’m usually more of a lurker but I couldn’t contain my excitement so here is my first post. I have never been so happy! Ok I probably have been but this is right up there!
‘For years I have been trying to make poached eggs because I love them. I have tried vinegar, swirling the water, microwaveable containers, praying, offering my first born child...disaster every time. I have seen a few posts from people making eggs and while I waited for a few weeks to try it because I was really not all that confident in my friendship with the Poached Egg God, I decided to give it a go when no one was home to witness my attempt.
‘I am happy to say that I MADE AND ATE A POACHED EGG and there were no tears 😀 - bit of water, an egg and 4 mins later I was in poached egg heaven. Thanks to all of you in Kmart pie maker land.’
Fellow Kmart Pie Makers follower Kylie gave it a go too, writing: ‘Thanks to the wonderful help on this site I have mastered my arch nemesis: the poached egg! Love it. Yum.’
Said fellow Joanna: ‘After seeing all the scrumptious food on here I decided to take the cobwebs off my pie maker and tried the poached egg on ciabata....quiche, pies here I come thank you everyone please don't stop with the post love it.’
