Emma Watkins, the yellow Wiggle, has taken to Instagram to announce some very exciting news, just two weeks after announcing her split from purple Wiggle Lachlan Gillespie.
Sharing a photo of herself, and red Wiggle Anthony, Emma wrote: ‘First day on set for Emma Series 2!!!! 💛💛💛💛 Director @anthony_wiggle‘
Fans quickly jumped to the post, hardly containing their excitement.
‘I love it. Can’t wait to see it,’ one wrote.
Another added, My daughter’s are going to be so excited 🎀💛,’ with another echoing, ‘SO EXCITED EMMA!’
Last week, Emma and Lachlan announced they had decided to part ways after two years of marriage.
The couple announced the news via the Daily Telegraph, saying: ‘We have, and continue to share, the most beautiful life together, but we wanted to let you know that privately for the last six months we have been navigating through a trial separation, and we have made the decision to separate as a couple.’
‘Throughout that period, we have performed hundreds of shows together and that is always a continued source of joy for us both.
‘We have embraced this as a very positive change in our relationship. Our incredible friendship has been strengthened throughout this time and what we have discovered is that, more than ever, first and foremost we love and adore performing as Emma and Lachy in The Wiggles and having the privilege of celebrating this happiness with extraordinary families around the world.’
The star’s continued, ‘We have chosen a different path to travel in our personal lives, but please know that we are stronger than ever and we can’t wait to see you at a show soon. We will not be commenting beyond this, and we thank you in advance for respecting our privacy.’
The news came as a huge shock to fans, with neither Emma or Lachy giving any indication as to the problems in their marriage.
‘They were very happy and affectionate so it came as a complete shock,’ the friend continued.
‘There’s no doubt they still love each other very much and they’re in a good place, they just feel they’ll be better as best friends.’
