On Tuesday, Nicole Kidman posted a touching tribute to her sister Antonia Kidman on Instagram.
The 51-year-old actress shared an image in which she is leaning against her sister while sitting cross-legged on the white fur rug. Nicole looked comfortable and casual and she donned a pink blouse, blue jeans and white sneakers. Meanwhile, her 48-year-old sister rocked a white t-shirt and brown gingham skirt.
With their heads bowed and touching, the image symbolised a close bond between them.
Nicole kept the captions simple, writing, “Sister love”, alongside a rose emoji and a double pink heart emoji.
Fans flooded the comment section to express how adorable and touching they found the image.
Nicole’s Big Little Lies co-star Reese Witherspoon also left a comment that read, “Aww!! Love this”, with a double pink heart emoji.
This isn’t the first time Nicole posted a tribute to her family online. Back in January 2018, she posted an image to her Facebook page that showed her posing alongside her sister and her mother. She captioned the image, “I love these women from the deepest part of my soul. So grateful to have spent the holidays with my mumma and sister.”
The post marked the fourth year that the trio had celebrated Christmas without Nicole’s father Anthony Kidman, who sadly died from an unexpected heart attack in Singapore, 2014, at the age of 75.
Not long after her father’s death, Nicole appeared on the Ellen Degenerous Show to discuss the fact that people need to be more comfortable with discussing the loss of a loved one.
“I’ve realised we don’t talk about it enough in terms of our society,” she said.
“Everybody loses their parents and it’s awful. I’m sorry to bring everything down, but I’m at the same time trying to navigate through something right now.”
