60 Minutes has been slammed for the choice of talent in an upcoming segment on Meghan Markle.
The story, which is being widely slammed as a hatchet job on Twitter, is being promoted with clips showing infamous British far right commentator Katie Hopkins ripping into Meghan.

Hopkins, who has no known expertise on the royal family, is instead infamous in the UK for her inflammatory comments, some of which have been slammed as ‘racist’.
The promo – which was released on Wednesday – looks at how the Duchess of Sussex has gone from “adored to insufferable”.
She has since taken to Twitter to say it’s “not bad for a woman without a platform or media voice” to be “trending in Australia and UK”.
Hopkins has blasted the royal as a “budget Princess Di” as she launches a verbal tirade on Meghan in the promo.
“Meghan Markle is the biggest hypocrite there is,” she tells Karl Stefanovic.
She continued: “There she is in her one shoulder dress being ‘glowing’, because all she does is ‘glow’…Abdicate. Off you go.”
Twitter has been deluged with complaints about the story, before it even airs. At the time of writing, Katie Hopkins was the number one trending topic, with many tweets slamming her use on 60 Minutes.
Actress and activist Jameela Jamil, was one of many to slam the shows choice of talent.
“If you have to bring in Katie Hopkins, you’re scraping the absolute bottom of the barrel, So immediately we can dismiss this trash “entertainment” as *any* form of “journalism”, tweeted Jameela.
Journalist Arvind Hickman also questioned the shows decision: “Does @60Mins realise how despised Katie Hopkins is in the UK and what her claim to fame is? When did she ever become an expert on the Royal family or anything British, other than UK bigotry? This is a really, really embarrassing oversight by Nine’s flagship current affairs show.”
Many other social media users expressed fears about the motivation for including Hopkins.
“I saw Katie Hopkins face in the promo and knew instantly this would be racist garbage,” wrote one Twitter user.
Another wrote that the story ‘turns Stefanovic in to a bigger joke’.
“Katie Hopkins is a grotesque racist & the LEAST credible person in the UK. This is an embarrassment to every Australian.”
The feature will air during Sunday’s episode of 60 Minutes on Nine.
