Channel Ten announced last week that Bachelor and Bachelor In Paradise star Ali Oetjen will have her third chance at love, starring as the franchise’s fourth Bachelorette.
But, former co-star Jarrod Woodgate has slammed the blonde reality star for being given the prestigious role.
Speaking to Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa, Jarrod audibly groaned when he was asked about Channel Ten’s casting decision, claiming Oetjen was ‘lame and boring.’
Jarrod, who found love on Bachelor In Paradise will fellow co-star Keira Maguire, was asked by the radio hosts how he thought Ali would perform in the new role.
The vineyard manager, who was joined by girlfriend Keira, moaned: ‘Ugh, next question.’
Keira swiftly stepped in: ‘This was why I was worried about interviews this morning. Babe, you need to hold back and not say everything that comes to your mind.’
The hosts asked Jarrod if he had ‘bad blood’ with Ali, but Keira answered for him with a laugh.
‘He does like her, he’s just worried she’s going to have a hard time choosing,’ she said.
Jarrod confessed, ‘Honestly, she was on the island for a long time and basically all we saw was, well, very lame and boring.’
‘I don’t know how it’s going to go,’ he continued.
The radio hosts continued to laugh, as Keira remarked: ‘I thought I was controversial. Sh**!’
Jarrod didn’t stop there, adding on Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny: ‘I think it’s going to be boring. It’s going to be boring…Her as a person. All she did on Paradise was either tan, lay there and that’s it.’
