On Tuesday morning during an interview on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, it appeared that Hamish Blake hung up on the KIIS FM hosts after being asked about his travel preferences.
Host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson asked Blake, “Do you guys fly business or casual?”
At which point the phone line suddenly died, making it appear that the 36-year-old comedian had hung up on the breakfast show hosts.
After the interview abruptly ended, Jackie O claimed, “I always ask the wrong questions.”
To which co-host Kyle Sandilands added, “Jackie, why the tough questions? You know Hamish wants to be a man of the people,”
“He was like, ‘S**t, she didn’t even give me the economy option!'”
Jackie O then laughed, “Oh, my God. I Tracy Grimshaw’d him.”
Which was a reference towards the A Current Affair host who is well known for her uncompromising interview style.
“He couldn’t handle my question,” added Jackie.
The father-of-two was calling from New York City, and Kyle argued that although it sounded as if the former radio host had hung up, it was more likely a technical issue that caused the phone line to cut out.
“I know you want to think [he hung up] but the cell service in America is terrible. You’d think phone service in America is amazing, but it’s not. It’s the worst,” said Kyle.
Jackie added, “I’m surprised we even had as good a line as we did,”
“Every time we do an interview in New York there’s always delays and all sorts of stuff.
Blake is currently with his wife Zoë Foster Blake and their children, Sonny, 4, and Rudy, 1, as he promotes the latest season of Channel Nine’s True Story with Hamish & Andy.
