Gwyneth Paltrow has gifted her fans with a rare selfie of herself alongside her 14-year-old daughter Apple Martin in celebration of National Daughter’s Day.
On Wednesday, the 45-year-old actress uploaded a close-up selfie of herself and Apple alongside the caption: “Happy #nationaldaughtersday Apple Martin, it’s like i conjured you from a dream, you make my life.”
The mother-daughter duo both wore similar makeup looks with pink lips and eyes defined mascara and eyeliner. It also looked like Apple had some pink dye through the ends of her hair.
Gwyneth shares Apple and 12-year-old son Moses with ex-husband Coldplay’s Chris Martin. The pair separated four years ago and filed for divorce the following year with the split becoming finalised in 2016.
The split stunned fans and Gwyneth revealed on The Goop Podcast that she’s learnt a lot from the process of splitting up.
“I think Chris and I are very like-minded and that we really were disappointed that our marriage wasn’t going to work, and we weren’t going to have the thing where you’re married to the parent of your children for the rest of your lives,” she said.
Earlier in the month, she revealed that she legally kept Martin’s last name by telling the Sunday Mirror, “My legal name is Gwyneth Paltrow Martin,”
“I am known out in the world as Gwyneth Paltrow, I had always kept that identity in a way. But in things related to school I am Martin,”
“Other children call me Mrs Martin, which is kind of hilarious… It’s a personal choice.”
She also explained that some women might want to reclaim their names following the end of a marriage but there are also women who want to keep their married name.
