He’s been convicted of deliberately killing his wife in 2012, but it seems the weight of Gerard Baden-Clay’s sentence is only just starting to sink in.
7News reported Baden-Clay, 46, was seen ‘sobbing uncontrollably’ while working in the Wolston Correctional Centre metal shop.
Sourced told the news site Baden-Clay revealed to prison staff that he is ‘not coping’ with his life sentence, and that the ‘full reality of his murder conviction’ has finally hit him.
In August Australia’s highest court ruled Baden-Clay deliberately kill his wife Allison, after his original murder conviction was substituted with manslaughter in December.
Allison Baden-Clay’s body was found on a creek bank in April 2012 – 10 days after her husband reported her missing from their Brisbane home.
