A brand-new Today show has just debuted on Channel Nine, but the new panel has not made a good first impression with viewers.
After suffering horror ratings last year and the shock firing of Karl Stefanovic, the Today show decided to enter 2019 with a complete change of hosts announcing Brooke Boney, Tony Jones, Deb Knight, Georgie Gardner and Tom Steinfort as the new faces of Today.
Georgie Gardner, the only host to survive the purge, addressed the shakeup on Monday saying on air, “The very first day of a new era on Nine, with a new-look Today show team”.
Whilst the big changes were meant to lure viewers away from Channel 7’s hit Sunrise, the onslaught of negative reactions following its debut would suggest that loyal viewers are not ready for the change.
According to News.com.au, angry fans took to Facebook to share some savage remarks in regards to the new panel.
Amongst the brutal commentary were angry users calling the show ‘boring’ and the presenters ‘loud’ and ‘overbearing’.
