Australian Ninja Warrior couple, Ryan Solomon and his wife, Amie, were told the words no couple wants to hear: at 17 weeks gestation, they had lost their daughter, Lola, in August last year.

“I just dropped to my knees and this raw primal scream came out of me,” Amie tells New Idea. “It’s only a noise that a mother who lost her child could make.”
But they never gave up on their dream for a baby and are thrilled to announce they are expecting a son, River Rye, in August. “It’s super exciting after such a crazy emotional last year,” says Ryan.
Now, with only weeks until they welcome their son, the couple have everything ready to go.
“The nursery is painted and complete,” reveals Ryan. “And, I’m actually going to build a ninja ring in the backyard for him,” he says.
“I keep joking that when River is born, he will come out swinging on his umbilical cord like a Ninja rope,” adds Amie with a laugh.
