Queensland cowboy Trent has been a fan favourite to win all season long, but unfortunately despite an outstanding run of performances was sent home just before the finale.

“Idol was my first-time singing, with a crowd, on stage. I’ve loved every minute of it, I feel at home. I can promise this won’t be the last time on this stage,” he shared with the crowd and judges as he said his final farewells.

“There is something really special about you, you’re a beautiful young man,” Marcia shared with the young artist.

Australia was left brokenhearted when pop singer sweetheart Ivana was eliminated from the competition.

Proving time and time again that she could sing everything from an emotional ballad to a high-energy dance hit, it came as no surprise that the 20-year-old progressed as far as she did.

“Obviously, you want to go all the way but that’s not what this is all about. I’ve gone out there and showed Australia who I am and who I want to be as an artist,” an emotional Ivana shared with the judges and live audience after her elimination was confirmed.

Amy chimed in, telling the singer that she was a “powerhouse” vocalist and “incredible” on the stage: “I’m so excited for your career.”

It was a bittersweet goodbye for grocery store trolley pusher Isaac who never believed he would make it past his first audition on Australian Idol, let alone the top six!

As he thanked the judges for believing in him, a grateful Isaac joked “Who would have ever thought!”

“You’re the one I’m most proud of…you’re the one I was most worried about, [but] you stood up and you have shined,” Kyle imparted on the 23-year-old as he departed the Australian Idol stage for the finale time.

She may have been eliminated from Australian Idol but it’s only onwards and upwards from here for this talented teenager!

Her final performance of Feeling Good by Nina Simone reinforced to the judges and Australia at large that Kiana had a voice beyond her years, and we just can’t wait to see what she gets up to next.

“It’s been a lifetime experience I will always cherish. Thankyou for helping me get this far, it’s been amazing,” the Queensland native shared with Australia as she said her final farewells.

Marcia shared: “You’ve got such great musicality beyond your years. I love your voice and you choices in songs. You did beautifully.”

From her first performance of American Boy by Estelle to her last, an edgy rendition of Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out of My Head, Drea wowed.

But sadly, despite receiving a save from the judges a round earlier, Drea was unable to secure the votes needed from the Australian public to remain in the competition and was sent home.

“It’s just really sad. I don’t want to see you go. I’ve enjoyed every single performance,” a visibly emotional Amy told Drea as she said her final farewells to the Australian Idol stage.

“This is not the end of Drea,” the 25-year-old volleyed back.

This talented youngster from the Sunshine State was earmarked as one to watch from his very first audition, but unfortunately – despite his obvious talent – he landed in the bottom four.

His final performance of James Bay’s Let It Go may have left the audience mesmerised, but the judges still sent Tyler home.

“You are great. We know we will see you again. If this is your last night on this stage, it’s certainly not your last night on a stage,” a proud Kyle told Tyler after he was eliminated.

“Your voice is stunning. You really do belong on a stage,” Amy chimed in.

After Australia voted for their favourite performers and TJ found himself in the bottom four, he had just one more chance to wow the judges and maintain his place in the competition.

Unfortunately, whilst his rendition of Hotline Bling by Drake demonstrated his unique artistry, it wasn’t quite enough and he was sadly sent home.

“You were great at the audition but maybe this is all you’ve got. You’ve got to bring it up a notch. You are great but not superstar-great. You’ve got to kick it up,” Kyle told TJ after his elimination, Marcia adding that TJ was “so different”.

Despite a strong start to the competition, powerhouse vocalist Imogen failed to attract the votes needed to remain in the competition.

After landing in the bottom four, wowed the crowd with a rousing rendition of It’s All Coming Back To Me Now by Celine Dion, to prove she had what it took to remain in the competition.

Sadly, however, the judges favoured TJ’s performance of Bad Guy by Billie Eilish and Imogen was sent home.

The judges were visibly shocked to find out Ripley had landed in the bottom four after several of his unique performances on Australian Idol went viral across the globe.

“The guy has millions of streams and such a unique voice. I’m shocked you are in the bottom,” a stunned Kyle said.

“I honestly have no words…my mind is blown right now,” Amy added.

Unfortunately for Ripley, his last-ditch effort to remain in the competition with a performance of Mercy by Shawn Mendes wasn’t enough to surpass that of Ivana’s rendition of Where Have You Been by Rihanna.
