Through good times and bad, there is nothing quite like the bond between sisters. And this was never more evident than when Kate Middleton and her sister, Pippa Middleton, attended the recent men’s singles final of Wimbledon, alongside the Princess of Wales’ daughter Princess Charlotte.
Pippa was every inch the supportive sister in what was no doubt a tiring public appearance amid Kate’s ongoing health battle.
In fact, a source tells New Idea that the future queen has been leaning on her sibling more than ever.
“Pippa’s been a complete rock star for Kate,” says our source. “From holding her hand through chemo to keeping the kids busy over the summer break, Kate couldn’t have got through this without her help.”

Their bond is almost identical to a previous royal sisterhood – between the late Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret.
According to a former pal of the late royals, Reinaldo Herrera, the sisters were so close, they had a direct phone line to each other and would call nightly to “gossip and laugh”.
“Even King Charles has remarked on Pippa’s loyalty to Kate and how it’s not unlike his mother’s close relationship with Princess Margaret, who sacrificed her own personal happiness for the Queen and Crown,” adds our source.
“Pippa has the same willingness to drop everything for Kate. She worships her big sister and would do anything for her.”

Kate, 42, was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer back in February and has since been undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
In what has been a tough time for both the royals and the Middleton clan, Kate knows she is lucky to have her sister by her side.
From sharing a flat together in Chelsea in their twenties to going through their journey into motherhood together, Kate and Pippa, 40, have always been remarkably close.
Pippa even lives just a stone’s throw away from Kate in Berkshire with her own three children, Arthur, Grace and Rose, and husband James Matthews.

With Kate already emulating her late grandmother-in-law in many other ways, our source says Buckingham Palace are thrilled she’s following in her footsteps with her own close sisterly relationship
“The Palace sees Pippa as a valuable asset in the health and wellbeing of its future Queen,” says our source. “Pippa’s never sold out or embarrassed her sister and has been the perfect lady in waiting.
“Her loyalty is absolute – just like Margaret’s was.”
