US gymnastic Samantha Cerio had to be carried out on a stretcher after breaking both her legs in a horrific accident.

The senior gymnast from Auburn university was competing in an NCAA regional event on Saturday when she attempted a handspring double front with a blind landing – unprepared for what was to come next.
In the extremely shocking footage you could see the moment Cerio’s knees buckled causing her to scream in agony.
“It was pretty tough to watch,” Auburn Coach Jeff Graba said.
“She’s a trooper, the last thing she said was, ‘Go help the girls.”
Cerio was on the floor grasping both her legs before she was tended to by paramedics and athletic trainers.
“The girls rallied around her. They’re doing this for her right now” Garba continued.
The Auburn competitor later took to Instagram with the devastating news that she’s retiring from gymnastics.
Despite the tragic incident and falling short during the regional finals, Auburn ended up finishing the event coming fourt.
“We wanted more than anything to do this for her,” the coach said.
“I think we were out of gas, emotionally spent. But I thought the girls fought hard. They did a great job.”
