A Chinese restaurant has pulled the plug on a bizarre marketing campaign that involved charging less for a meal the larger the customer’s breasts are.
When posters starting popping up advertising the promotion at the Trendy Shrimp, locals were horrified to see that cup sizes were listed against prices, with the price decreasing as the cup sizes went up.
The Qianjiang Evening Post says that the restaurant’s manager initially defended the campaign, saying the women who had come ‘had nothing to hide’ and that ‘customer numbers rose about 20%.’
However public outcry has seen the controversial posters disappear amid accusations that the promotion discriminates against women with different body types, and is vulgar.
