Playboy founder Hugh Hefner was secretly battling lung cancer and other health problems when he died on Sept. 27 at age 91, US publication Globe is sensationally reporting today.
The allegations fly in the face of the official line that he died of cardiac arrest while suffering from respiratory failure, septicemia and antibiotic resistant E. coli.
Hefner allegedly didn’t want anyone to know about his health issues, claims the publication.
“Hef made it clear before he died that he wanted no autopsy,” says Globe’s source. “He wanted to do anything to preserve his slick Playboy image even after he was dead.
“Lung cancer was in his spine and spreading to his brain and other organs,” another source tells Globe.
“He drank heavily and it just destroyed his body. They didn’t want anyone to know he did this to himself… pipe smoking was his trademark.”
Adding to his health woes, the Playboy Mansion was also “infested with black mold and toxic spores,” Globe reports.
The Playboy organisation has yet to respond to Globe‘s sensational allegations of a cover-up, and the alleged state of the company’s trademark mansion.
