The first couple of the season is 29-year-old Nutritionist, Sara, from New South Wales and 31-year-old Online Business Owner, Tim, from Queensland.
Tim and Sara were off to a good start on their wedding with both being ecstatic about their pairing from the get-go... in fact, Sara's first impression was an excited "yes."
However, from a questionable best man's speech, Sara questioning whether Tim is over his ex-girlfriend or not, and a disagreement on their honeymoon, the two aren't off to a great start.
"I just knew it was too good to be true," Sara said after finding out Tim was going to propose to his ex-girlfriend of six years before they broke up just six months ago.
As the experiment progresses we see many ups and downs in their relationship however, they always seem to fight through their difficulties. Despite this, recently emerged photos reveal Sara and Tim may not have been able to make it work outside of the experiment...
The second couple of the season is 29-year-old Administration Officer, Cassandra, from Queensland and 30-year-old Event Manager, Tristan, from New South Wales.
These two have melted our hearts already! Cassandra has suffered a lot of tragedy in her life from losing her mother to losing he high school sweetheart, however, she already finds herself "drawn" to Tristan "because he is so warm-hearted and so funny."
Tristan has already made a great impression on Cassandra's dad and the two seem to be heading in the right direction. Tristan even figured out Cassandra's favourite biscuits and surprised her with TimTam's and flowers on their honeymoon as a gift for her 30th birthday.
Over the course of the experiment, the two have struggled to progress their relationship as Tristan isn't able to give Cass the physical affection she desires.
The third couple of the season is 43-year-old MC and wedding celebrant, Lucinda, from Byron Bay, New South Wales, and 51-year-old business owner, Timothy, from Victoria.
Lucinda and Timothy are off to a good start and seem to be really right for each other and even shared THREE kisses at the altar!
However, with Lucinda being very spiritual, Timothy appears hesitant about how this will work for him, claiming that he has dated a person who meditates in the past and it was hard for him as the "peace and quiet... drives [him] nuts."
The two have struggled to progress in their relationship as the experiment has continued as Timothy doesn't feel they have a sexual spark. At this stage, Lucinda's patience proves to be holding the relationship together and the couple is continuously working on making it last.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem Lucinda and Timothy were able to make it work outside the experiment with recently emerged photographs showing Timothy out in Melbourne with another woman.
The fourth couple of the season is 27-year-old business development owner, Tori, from Victoria, and 34-year-old personal trainer, Jack, from Queensland.
Despite the MAFS experts claiming to have "high hopes" for these two, it all comes down to whether or not they can learn to compromise. Both Tori and Jack prove to be very controlling and dominant in nature however though this may not be want either WANTS in a partner, it may well be exactly what they need.
The two made a great first impression on each other's families and while all appeared to be going well at the wedding ceremony and reception, the honeymoon wasn't as perfect.
Jack admitted he and Tori are "not sexually connected at all," while Tori thinks the complete opposite. "There is definitely a sexual energy there and sexual chemistry is super important to me," Tori said.
This proves to be a reemerging issue over the course of the experiment and the couple takes many hits as time has progressed. However, it has been reported by Daily Mail that Jack and Tori allegedly celebrated Christmas together last year, suggesting the couple may have gone the distance.
The sixth couple of the season is 28-year-old recruitment manager, Eden, from Queensland, and 26-year-old professional kickboxer, Jayden, from Queensland.
All is going well for Eden and Jayden who, despite having both been betrayed and cheated on in the past, are determined to find the person they are going to spend the rest of their life with. From the instant physical attraction to discovering their shared interests and values, Eden and Jayden are well underway to developing a strong, committed relationship.
Their progress went downhill after Eden learned that Jayden had slept with his ex-girlfriend's best friend. After Jayden's girlfriend cheated on him multiple times he told her he was "willing to give her another chance but [he was] going to sleep with her best friend while she watches."
This left their relationship in a very delicate place, however, the two came out the other side as strong as ever. Eden and Jayden are continuing to grow as a couple and are arguable one of the strongest couples in the experiment at this stage...
The seventh couple of the season is 32-year-old registered nurse, Ellie, from Queensland, and 39-year-old tour guide, Ben, from New South Wales.
Ellie and Ben are off to a rough start in their marriage... Despite great first impressions of each other, Ellie's cousin Jordan later interrogates Ben on his intentions while on the show and determines that Ben is only on MAFS for fame. Ben has his own podcast and tour guide business and has tried to get on the show for a few years but has been unsuccessful until now.
Jordan is convinced Ben is not on the show for genuine reasons and is worried for Ellie.
As the experiment progresses many issues arise between Ellie and Ben... Ellie continues to question whether Ben is on MAFS for the right reasons and questions his honesty with her after repeatedly changing his mind about whether or not he wants children.
Rumours have also surfaced that Ellie and MAFS contestant Jonathan have gotten together post-experiment, accompanied by a suspicion that there will be a couple swap later in the season.
The eighth couple of the season is 51-year-old photographer, Andrea, from the Sunshine Coast, and 62-year-old motivational speaker, Richard, from Sydney.
These two are the oldest couple to appear on MAFS however the experts are excited about not only the development of their love and relationship but also how their experience could help the other couples.
Andrea and Richard have arguably had one of the strongest starts to the season. They were instantly attracted to each other and connected, both received approval from their families and bonded over their similarities and zest for life.
The two even consummated their relationship on the second morning of their honeymoon! They are the perfect match.
The ninth couple of the season is 32-year-old PR & Marketing Consultant, Lauren, from Perth and 39-year-old health business owner, Jonathan, from New South Wales.
MAFS expert John Aiken believes Jonathan is "exactly what [Lauren] needs but not what she's used to." Lauren, who says she thinks she needs someone calm to balance her out, has already described Jono as "too nice" within one day of knowing him.
The two had strong physical attraction after their first interaction, however, now that their honeymoon has begun, Lauren is realising she has to be around him all the time. While it is only early days, signs suggest Lauren and Jonathan will really have to work on the relationship to make it a successful one.
The two have been doing this throughout the entire experiment and despite being a relatively strong couple amoung the group, the rumours surrounding Ellie and Jonathan getting together post-experiement suggest Lauren and Jono didn't get their happy ending.
The tenth and most anticipated marriage of the season is 34-year-old salesperson, Michael, from Victoria, and 26-year-old hairdresser, Stephen, from Western Australia.
The two were off to a pretty great start after they were not only initially attracted to each other, but also realised they both shared strong family values. Stephen said he "wants a man who is family orientated with a good sense of humour and killer smile..." and after hearing that Michael was a sperm donor for his friends so they could have children of their own, Stephen was amazed by his clear family oriented nature.
Intruders Madeleine and Ash make the eleventh couple of the season. 30-year-old psychic medium and actress, Madeleine, from Victoria, has been matched with 33-year-old sales manager, Ash, from Victoria.
Their chance at love appeared hopeful when they first met with Ash being "blown away" by Madeleine's beauty as she walked down the aisle, claiming she was everything he had hoped for. However, Ash soon began to have reservations about his new wife.
Ash appears to struggle coming to terms with Madeleine's spiritual side and her mood swings prove to be very hard for him to comprehend. Madeleine came on MAFS to find someone who will accept her exactly as she is... will Ash be able to look past her quirks?
26-year-old Executive Assistant, Jade, from Queensland, has been matched with 27-year-old psychiatric nurse, Ridge, from New South Wales.
The two had a fairly good start to the experiment. Despite Jade's initial worries that Ridge wouldn't be mature enough to step up to the responsibility of being a father to Jade's seven-year-old daughter, Ridge has appeared to prove himself to Jade... she even said she was in a "love bubble" following the wedding ceremony and reception.
Their bond proved to grow a lot stronger following the celebrations with Jade revealing to the camera that she and Ridge "banged" on their first night together.
