It’s safe to say that when it comes to chocolate, celebrity chef Curtis Stone is an expert.

Alongside Cadbury’s and his very own team of pastry chefs at his Beverly Hills pie, pudding, and tarts shop, the 48-year-old has crafted several bespoke chocolate flavours.

From raspberry and hazelnut tart, retro caramel slice and vanilla passionfruit, all these curious combinations have been a sell-out success, none more so than his latest release of a Vanilla Key Lime Pie chocolate block.

Bringing a slice of the beloved American dessert staple to Aussie supermarket shelves, the zesty new collaboration between Curtis and Cadbury is the ultimate sweet treat.

If you’ve not yet had the pleasure of trying this new flavour for yourself, the bar brings together a smooth vanilla and lime-flavoured creme that coats a chocolate biscuit piece that is covered in Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate.

Speaking with New Idea about his decision to create a Key Lime Pie flavoured chocolate bar, he said it was a no-brainer after falling in love with their “sweet and tangy taste.”

“When I started making and selling my key lime pie recipe at my bakery, The Pie Room by Gwen in L.A, it quickly became a customer favourite.”

“It’s America’s answer to lemon meringue pie, which I’m not too crazy about if I’m being honest,” Curtis laughs, adding: “I think I much prefer the key lime pie!”

According to the father-of-two, while it was rare for the flavours of citrus and chocolate to work together in a recipe, his Vanilla Key Lime Pie Cadbury Chocolate Block had worked “brilliantly.”

“It’s just really yummy,” he shares with us.

“I like how balanced it is, and when I’m around it, I keep reaching for more of it.”

While not every new chocolate flavour that Curtis dreams up works out like he envisions, the ones that have hit shelves have been overwhelmingly popular.

This limited edition release is here for a good time, not a long time, so make sure to head down to your local grocer to pick up a block for yourself for only $6.00.
