Allen’s Lollies has quietly discontinued three of its most iconic (and delicious) lolly brands, leaving lolly-loving Aussies scrambling to find the final remaining stock on their local supermarket shelves.

The fan favourite sweet treats – Red Ripperz (formerly known as Red Skins), Sherbies, and Milkos – are following in the footsteps of Fantales which were discontinued due to a drop in popularity in June this year.

The news of the discontinuation of these beloved lolly brands was only made official this week, however rumours have been rife online about their fate as stock became harder and harder to find.

“I’ve been looking for some Red Ripperz and everywhere is out of stock. It’s not even showing up on the Allen’s website. Have I missed some news or what’s the go?” one eagle-eyed fan wrote online.

Another chimed in: “Why is everywhere sold out of Red Ripperz? When will there be new stock in Australia? All major supermarkets are sold out.”

Speaking with 7Life, Nestlé Head of Marketing Confectionary Melanie Chen confirmed the fate of the sweet treat trio.

“We have temporarily paused our individual bags of Allen’s Red Ripperz Sticks, Sherbies, and Milkos as we move production to our new location in Broadford,” the statement read.

Taking to their socials to address the speculation, Allen’s Lollies reconfirmed that the lollies were just experiencing a “temporary pause in production.”

“Recently, we moved production of these chews back to Australia to the home of Allen’s in Broadford, Victoria.”

“The move has taken a little longer than expected but rest assured, we are working hard to bring them back to shelves in their own bags as soon as possible.”

“We’ll keep you in the loop and let you know the moment they’re back on shelves.”

Though the news is undoubtedly sad, there is a positive to be found in the update!

According to Nestlé, Red Ripperz, Sherbies, and Milkos can still be found (and purchased) in bags of Allen’s Chew Mix, they just won’t be available to purchase in individual bags for the forseable future.
