‘Angelina and Brad have finally called a truce for the sake of the kids. They’re in the process of healing their family,’ the insider spills.
‘It’s no secret the split and custody battle has been among the nastiest Hollywood’s ever seen. Court documents were leaked, lawyers quit and the whole thing turned into a media circus as they fought over who should get the kids and how much Brad should be paying,’ the source added.
‘There was a lot of anger. It was only when Angelina’s behaviour started to backfire that she began realising the resentment and animosity was getting nowhere. They were just hurting themselves and they were also hurting the kids.’
The source claims that it was only when Angelina decided to go to therapy with Brad that the former couple started ‘communicating effectively’.
The kids – Maddox, 18, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13 and twins Knox and Vivienne, 11, are said to be ‘thrilled their parents are getting along better’.
The estranged couple recently reunited for talks in Venice, according to US OK! magazine. The hunky actor – who has totally quit alcohol, because drinking was a major cause of his marriage collapse – now has a renewed interest in his ex’s life.
‘Brad recently got wind that Angie has a nice little flirtation going with her bodyguard and decided to put a stop to it,’ a source told American OK!
The insider adds that Brad ‘asked the bodyguard to accompany him to the Venice Film Festival under the guise of needing extra security. And while there, he confronted the guy man-to-man and told him to watch himself.
‘He made it clear that he wants strict professionalism at all times – and that means no romance or suggestive talk,’ the source adds.
Chatting with the New York Times, the Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood actor admitted to spending a year and a half in Alcoholics Anonymous after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce.
Speaking with the publication, Brad revealed: ‘I had taken things as far as I could take it, so I removed my drinking privileges.’
