Almost a month after the actor was found dead in an Orlando hotel room, the cause of his death has been confirmed by Bob’s family.

In a statement given to PEOPLE, it was revealed that “Bob passed from head trauma”, as determined by the authorities.

“They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved,” the statement read.

Bob’s family went on to say that they’ve felt “overwhelmed with the incredible outpouring of love from Bob’s fans” following the news of his death.

It was confirmed that the beloved American comedian was found dead in a Ritz-Carlton hotel room in Orlando on January 10th, 2022.

“Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room,” a tweet from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office read.

“The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.”

After Bob failed to check out of his room, it was reported that his family contacted the hotel’s security, who then found the actor.

While he hosted America’s Funniest Home Videos, narrated How I Met Your Mother, and was in the middle of a stand-up tour, Bob was best known as father figure Danny Tanner in 80s sitcom Full House.

The news of the actor’s death came as a shock to Bob’s former cast mates and lifelong friends who took to their respective social medias to pay tribute to the star.
