Following the premiere of The Block 2024, viewers lashed out online after discovering that the beloved Foreman Keith, whose real name is Keith Schleiger, isn’t part of the 20th season.
After 16 seasons, Keith decided to take a step back from his full-time duties so he had more time to spend with his daughters Ebony and Jasmin. If he was to appear on this season of The Block, he would’ve had to move to Phillip Island full-time, which he was unable to do as a father.
Instead, Foreman Dan, who is expecting a baby with his wife Dani, has taken over the role as sole Foreman.
As the new season premiered on August 12, fans immediately took to X/Twitter, expressing how upset they were that Keith won’t be part of the series this year.
WHY ISN’T FOREMAN KEITH ON THE BLOCK 2024?
Keith revealed that the reason he isn’t part of The Block this season is because he wants more time to spend with his daughters.
“I couldn’t see a way of seeing my children more than once a week or something like that,” Keith told 9Entertainment.
“I wouldn’t have been able to commute from Melbourne, I would have to live down there. That was always going to be very hard and it just didn’t feel it was the right thing to do at the time – I don’t really want to spend three months without them.”
However, an article published by Herald Sun in May 2024 revealed that Keith would make “irregular appearances” on the show, meaning fans may still get to see his face this season!
“He couldn’t come to the island for three months straight. It was literally a bridge too far. But Block fans will be pleased to hear that he has been involved with filming for our 20th season as a special guest,” a Nine spokesperson said.
