The Cambridge’s tour of Pakistan has certainly been a success, but royal fans may have felt a sense of déjà vu when it comes to what Prince William and Kate Middleton have been doing on tour.

Many of the areas that the royal couple have been focussing on, such as conservation and women’s education, are rather similar to the causes that Meghan and Harry championed on their recent South Africa tour.
“These are a lot of the areas, fairly politicised areas – conservation, children – they are sort of the things Meghan and Harry were doing in Africa and of course when they were visiting Australia and New Zealand,” royal commentator Angela Mollard reveals on New Ideas podcast Royals.
“It’s to be expected that they will overlap in terms of the things they are interested in… but it’s interesting what they’ve done so far does seem to resemble a lot of what the Sussex’s did when they were on their recent tour.”
However, Angela admits that she thinks it is just a coincidence rather than a purposeful move.
“I think it’s probably more that those are the issues of importance to Pakistan and it just so happens those are a lot of the issues that are affecting Africa as well,” she says.
“So, I think it’s probably just a coincidence.”
Despite some similarities on their tour there has also been one major difference when it comes to the women’s wardrobes. We have been given a lot of information when it comes to Kate’s stunning tour wardrobe and this is the opposite of Meghan’s tour.
“We always love to know the details of what they are wearing, and this is obviously different from Meghan and Harry’s Africa tour when we got no detail about the clothes,” Angela says.
“It was a decision by Meghan because she didn’t want it to detract from the work, they were doing. But I like the fact that Kate has embraced the look and she seems incredibly happy.”
