Has the royal handover officially begun?
Each year Queen Elizabeth hosts four garden parties, three held on the grounds of Buckingham Palace, and one at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland.
However, for the first garden party of the season, it seems the Queen has relinquished her hosting duties to her son, and the man first-in-line to the throne, Prince Charles.
WATCH! Prince Charles replaces Queen as host of the garden party!
The shock move comes amidst speculation that the 93-year-old monarch is preparing to step down and hand over the crown to the Prince of Wales.
Over the years Queen Elizabeth has slowed down considerably, handing many of her patronages over to Prince William, Prince Harry and Kate Middleton.
Whatsmore, the future King of England has begun attending A LOT more events in his mother’s stead, hosting a whopping 500 engagement last year – more than both his sons, William and Harry, combined.

Whilst there is no doubt Her Majesty might be preparing for retirement, the monarch is still attending her fair share of royal gatherings.

In the last two weeks, Queen Elizabeth has attended the Royal Windsor Horse Show, met her baby great-grandson Archie, and will attend the RHS Chelsea Flower Show next week.
So Lizzie isn’t handing over her crown just yet!
