When the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, stepped out at Brinsworth House earlier in the week, all eyes were on her growing baby bump.
So, it was easy to miss the delicate gold ring Meghan was sporting on her right hand. But, the ring by Turkish brand Kismet actually has a special very special meaning.
The piece of jewelry features a hasma – an outline of a hand containing an eye with a blue sapphire.
The symbol is believed to bring the wearer good fortune, happiness and good health. The eye placed on the hand is said to represent the eye that sees everything, protecting it’s owner against ill will and evil encounters.
What’s more, according to The Yoga Mandala, when the symbol is facing down it “helps welcoming fertility, goodness and, abundance of the universe into your life.”
Of course, this meaning is extra special for Meghan who is currently expecting her first child with Prince Harry.
Royal fans have speculated that Meghan chose the piece to help protect her and the baby as they near their due date.
The duchess opted to wear the ring during her visit to Brinsworth House, a care home for people in the entertainment industry where she met with residents and helped out with Christmas crafts.
